Westminster Schools of Augusta seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Communications to manage the School’s brand, marketing initiatives and communications strategies. Reporting directly to the Head of School, this individual bears overall responsibility for making visible the School’s mission, vision, and values to Westminster’s internal/external audiences through professional standards of public and media relations, marketing and communications. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker who will work closely with the School community to develop and implement an integrated marketing, communication, media and public relations plan that promotes and enhances the School’s reputation as an outstanding PK-12 Christian college preparatory institution that seeks to glorify God by providing an excellent education equipping students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ.


Bachelor’s degree (required), Master’s degree (preferred)
Minimum three years of experience in marketing, communications or public relations
Extensive experience with a variety of technology tools
Superb oral and written communication skills with regard to writing and editing
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and work in a team environment
Proficiency with social media management, website organization and graphic design
Proficiency in digital marketing strategies including SEO, PPC, Google Analytics, and so forth
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, iMove (or comparable video editing software), and Canva
Extensive experience with video and photography production on DSLR camera
Is an ideal team player exhibiting a happy, humble spirit, an always learning attitude, and works well with diverse groups

Responsibilities and Duties

Plan and execute marketing and branding programs that enhance the visibility and public perception of Westminster
Ensure all school communications are coordinated to address Westminster’s audiences with a unified and consistent voice
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic marketing plan
Update and distribute Westminster’s brand standards before each school year
Manage the marketing and communications budget
Oversee all school communication outlets, including Windows, the website, WSA phone application, blogs, social media, the annual report, event invitations and programs, admission collateral and other key community publications with regard to copy, design, production, editorial consistency and graphic identity
Oversee weekly email newsletter to parents
Communicate brand and communication expectations to division heads to manage throughout each division
Lead weekly meetings with the Head of School, Development, and Admissions to assess communication and marketing needs
Negotiate media contracts for the purpose of advertising
Manage media relations, including writing press releases and cultivating relations with local and regional media
Give counsel and review protocol for any actions, activities and/or public responses for public relations impact
Responsible for editorial material for school publications
Coordinate with printers to ensure timely production and delivery of materials
Oversee the coordination of mailings and communications to various constituencies
Identify and ensure Westminster’s brand identity across all communications
Work with those who take photographs at school events to coordinate use in school publications and for online photo album
Facilitate relationships with other entities for co-promotional purposes
