Enrichment Teacher Job Description

Position:  Part-time Teacher

Reports to:  Director of Student Support

The Christ School is looking for a dynamic educator to serve as the Enrichment teacher for grades 2-5.

Evidences and is able to articulate a faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education from an accredited college/university
Gifted Endorsement
Evidence of at least (3) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience and support for children with gifted characteristics
Proficient in the understanding of children who are gifted and talented
Ability to write and develop curriculum appropriate for gifted learners
Expertise in providing enriched and accelerated curriculum in all subject areas (including ability grouping and tiering assignments)
Capability to develop and maintain appropriate working relationships with parents
Instruction and Integration
The Enrichment teacher shall:

Collaborate between classroom teachers, families and the Director of Student Support
Assist in the testing and identification of Gifted students
Develops and maintains an ongoing student identification process in collaboration with teachers
Develops classroom enrichment programming for identified students
Provides direct services to students
Assists classroom teachers in differentiating curriculum



Leadership and Professional Growth
The Enrichment teacher shall:

Stay abreast of current research by attending professional development related to gifted students and their needs
Work with the Director of Student Support  to identify resources within the community for students and parents
Plan and implement staff development activities related to the Gifted program
