Director of Campus Safety

Reporting to the Director of Central Services, the director of safety will ensure the safety and security of the SCPS campus. This position will protect the campus against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Further, the director of safety will be a faithful member of a Christian church.

Essential job functions will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Partner with the local authorities to maintain a positive working relationship.
Respond to emergency calls on campus in a timely manner.
Execution of the above duties includes the following:

Examination of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Warning violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards and security doors left unlocked.
Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Reviews performance of drills to ensure all safety and security requirements are met.
All other duties as assigned by the Director of Central Services.

Security or safety background preferred. Former law enforcement would be highly qualified.
Must have a Georgia State Driver License.
Ability to walk for extended periods around campus.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb stairs.
Ability to sit at a desk working on a computer.
