POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of IT infrastructure for the organization.  Overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals.  Directing the effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery systems and processes.  Managing day to day operations, and various execution of the Cyber Security stance of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Oversee the design, implementation, and daily operations of the network infrastructure.

• Lead development and implementation processes for the organizations IT systems and department.

• Maintain the telecommunication systems, servers, storage systems and security systems.

• Set-up and trouble-shoot equipment issues (PCs, media systems, student devices, chrome books, scanners, printers, etc.) for administrators, directors, managers, teachers, staff and students.

• Analyze the IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess productivity and upgrade requirements.

• Evaluate and specify systems and technologies for recommendation.

• Recommend modification and adjustment to systems and networks.

• Coordinate and manage IT projects to ensure adherence to the budget, schedule and scope.

• Collaborate with end users; administrators, directors, managers, teachers and staff to identify and resolve problems with computer software and hardware specific to the network and systems.

• Coordinate internally with staff and externally with vendors and contractors to ensure proper implementation and integration of systems and applications.

• Design, implement and maintain the phone (landline and cell), building intercom, video distribution, livestreaming, and audio-visual systems throughout the school district.

• Develop processes and procedures for data back-up, disaster recovery and business continuance.

• Provide support and training to administrators, directors, managers, teachers and staff of the multitude of software applications and school management systems utilized in the daily operations.

• Set-up, maintain, and troubleshoot the website domains for the district.

• Manage and control system access for internal and external/remote access capabilities.

• Provide technical support and assistance to install and resolve problems with the HVAC systems.

• Coordinate and set up of technology/media equipment for district events.

• Lead IT department staff, hire and train department staff, conduct performance evaluations.

• Able and willing to carry a cell phone, be on call and respond 24/7 as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary Range:  Starting at $72,000

Benefit Eligibility:

All salaried employees working 30 or more hours per work week are considered full-time and eligible to receive the benefits listed in the Benefits section.  Benefits are available the first day of the month following the hire date.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or related field. A minimum of five years of related leadership experience required. Experience with Fortinet Technologies such as Fortigates, Fortinet Switches, and Fortinet Wireless APs. Experience with Virtualized networks specifically Hyper-V. Experience with Dell products such as laptops and servers.

Preferred Qualifications:  Information Technology, Cyber Security or related field. Certifications in G-Suite Applications, Fortinet Switching Technologies, Foritgate Firewalls, Fortinet Wireless Technologies, Microsoft 365, Canvas Learning Systems, Renweb Systems, and various educational software a plus.

Must have excellent planning skills, be highly organized and detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities.  Must be a self-starter with the ability to work productively and meet benchmarks and goals in a timely fashion.  Strong interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and management skills are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Director of Information Technology position requires intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, bending kneeling stooping, crouching and lifting up to 40lbs on occasion.    Must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time.  Must possess normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
