Director of College Guidance and Counseling

Houston Christian (HC) is accepting applications for the position of Director of College Guidance and Counseling to begin in 2022. The Director of College Guidance and  Counseling, under the direction of the Principal, supervises the counseling team and has oversight for all counseling services, college guidance, and counseling events for the School. The Director of College Guidance and Counseling serves as a member of the Admissions Committee and may be asked to serve on the Administrative Team.  This position assists and reports to the Principal, supervises the Counselors, Registrar, Counseling Assistant, and works in collaboration with all administrators, staff,  and faculty.  This is a full-time and exempt position.

​QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s degree in relevant field required.
Minimum five years of private or public school counseling experience.
Experience in college access or admissions advising is preferred.
Classroom teaching experience is beneficial.
Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills. Must be self-starting and able to multitask.
Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills are required. Excellent presentation skill is important and expected.
Proficient in basic technology applications. Google Apps knowledge is expected (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).
Contribution to the life of the school outside of regular duties is expected.
Represent the school in a positive light and be a strong spokesperson for the school.
